St PATRICKS CARNIVAL WORKSHOPS BEGIN
Preparations for the Dublin St Patricks Parade get into full swing on Wednesday 10th February when we launch a programme of percussion, dance and prop making workshops at their base in Carndonagh starting at 7pm.
After a break of two years without a drumming band, the group are again planning a live percussion element in their Dublin parade and will be holding percussion workshops in the Carnival Office, Carndonagh every Wednesday night in the lead up to the parade led by Derry based drummer Phillip Wallace. These workshops will have a strong Afro/Celt flavour and anyone with a djembe or bodhran sitting in the corner of their living room should definitely bring it along. The group are also looking for other dancers, stiltwalkers and performers to parade alongside the percussion group in Dublin with regular rehearsals also taking place on Wednesday nights.
There will also be plenty of opportunity for anyone interested in helping out making carnival hats, costumes and props.
Wednesday 10th February starting at 7pm where you can find out more about plans for the parade and try your hand at Drumming and Hat Making Workshops.

There will be an information night at the Carnival Office, Tul na ri, Carndonagh on
Individuals, community and family groups are all welcome to get involved and can find more information on our website www.inishowencarnival.com or can contact us directly on 9373375
CELTIC MELEE FOR DUBLIN ST PATRICKS PARADE
Our 2010 Dublin St Patricks Festival Parade years theme will be a multicultural extravaganza inspired by our work for the Earagail Arts Festival last summer with Indian Community Centre and Ghana Union.
This years production entitled "Celtic Mela" (a Mela being an Indian festival) includes a vibrant combination of sparkly costume, colourful headgear, flowing back packs, flags and large mobile props with a mixture celtic, african and Indian themes running through the parade.
We are delighted that both the Indian Community Centre and Ghana Union groups will be joining us for the event alongside some more regular participants in the parade.
Details of dance, percussion and making workshops are available on our activities page
Anyone interested in taking part in the parade or preparations should contact Kevin by phone or email.
